Oddly enough, it was the one who has a really poor concept of technology that discovered the online art community. It was Sharon who told Steve about deviantART as a suggestion to help his art get more exposure. As an artist who is much more comfortable with a sketch pad and pencils, the idea of making his work digital was concerning to Steve. However, after being bullied in to trying it by Sharon and persuading Tony to lend them his scanner, Steve set himself up a deviantART account. By the end of his first month online, he had uploaded 20 pieces of art, got himself 16 watchers and had surprised himself by beginning to make money on his work as people were prepared to pay for his prints. And for the first time since he began to draw, he truly believed that he was as good as people said he was.

Of course, when Tony found out why Steve wanted to borrow his scanner, he wanted to be in on the action too. Of course, Tony would never dream of submitting traditional art... old fashioned, yuk. No, Tony's uploads were up-to-date, relevant and very... well... Tony! Designs and concepts for so many different inventions and interfaces, more than he could dream of actually fulfilling in five lifetimes. He would have uploaded more for his 30-odd watchers – the poorest amount of fans he’d ever come across in one place - but sometimes he just couldn't find the time to go through the whole upload process. And once the upload page changed format, he just couldn't be bothered anymore. But he didn't ignore deviantART all together, oh no. Tony discovered the fan-fiction. Yes, there was fan-fiction written about themselves - actually, they were fairly popular on the Internet. And there were some gems tucked away in the corners of dA. Tony's favourite group was called 'TonyxPairings' and his favourite 'ship' was Stony. Most other people might stop and consider it to be weird to read smutty fan-fiction about yourself and one of your friends. But Tony was pretty open minded and he favourited some of the fics he found. Okay, that's a lie, he favourited a lot of it.  Steve accidentally stumbled across these one day when browsing Tony's favourites. Needless to say, Steve stayed very far away from that corner of deviantART from that day on.

Bruce had always found it hard to concentrate on drawing, whether it was traditionally or through computer graphics. But, there was one art that Bruce could deal with, and that was photography. He preferred pictures of landscapes but as he could very rarely get out of New York City to reach any of the National Parks, he didn't upload very much. That was until Steve pointed out that the city itself was a landscape. After that, when Bruce wasn't busy working or 'Hulking Out' as it seemed to have become affectionately known amongst the online community, he was often out on the streets of the metropolis looking for moments to capture. Tony never thought much of them, but the others liked them well enough. Surprisingly, Tasha was a bit of a photography geek and was willing to help him improve. Bruce refused to submit his work to any groups to get exposure, so only had a handful of watchers, but he didn't mind that. However, he still spent a lot of time on deviantART, looking at other people's work. And not just photography. He was a little embarrassed about this obsession of his, but deep-down Bruce was a hard-core Brony. He was very careful with what he looked at, favourited and commented on as he did not want the others to find out about this at all. He wasn't careful enough as Clint found out about it. Bruce prevented him from blabbing by providing a new set of trick arrows and makings some modifications to his bow. Clint swore never to tell anyone of his discovery. And he was horrified and very upset when he read ‘Cupcakes’. Pepper swore never to tell anyone why he was so upset that day and Bruce is very grateful for that.

Thor, doesn't understand the Internet - unlike his younger brother who has got to grips with it like a duck to water - and believes it to be a type of sorcery and claims that that is the reason why Loki understands it better than he does. But he has got to grips with the idea of favouriting and his Favourites tab is constantly full of pictures of 'cute' puppies, kittens and other small and furry animals which Tasha loudly reminds them that she hates. Thor enjoys reading some fan-fiction. He doesn't understand 'Thorki' but he does enjoy reading the fics where he and Loki are friends. It reminds him of good times centuries ago when that was still the case. And although he knows that it was his actions that caused the rift between them, it's nice for him to remember the days when they were young, care-free and brothers in arms.

Despite her expertise in photography, Tasha is one of those creatively unfulfilled people and she never uploads any art to deviantART. She does like the journal function and somehow has managed to accumulate a 10-strong fanbase who follow her little blog of what she gets up to. Clint will never admit that 5 of those watchers are actually multiple accounts of his. She prefers original Literature to fan-fiction, especially those teenage angst stories where the guy and the girl like each other but don't realise it. She sometimes wonders if she and Clint could ever be like that. Occasionally she cries over them - Clint is never to find out. But for now, she and Clint enjoy reading the spy thriller stories that people like to post and laughing at how wrong they are. So very, very wrong. But they do wonder what it would be like if their job were a bit less normal, and a bit more... fictional.

Clint, as has already been mentioned, has 5 accounts. Four of those are literally just watching Tasha's account and favouriting everything she favourites. His main one though is dedicated to digital art. And actually, Clint has a hidden talent for digital art. He can do the more traditional line art stuff, but he thinks Why bother? when there are so many other cool things you can do with a computer programme and a graphic tablet. This is why he specialises in fractals. Even Tasha is impressed with a lot of the creations he has put up onto deviantART and he is in so many groups, he can barely keep track of all his deviantWATCH messages that flood his inbox every time he has to go on a mission. He would become a Founder of a group, but he can't commit to such a project as he's away so often. He has resolved that if he survives until retirement, this is just one of the things he'll do. He'll never tell Tasha, but he is a hard-core Clintasha shipper and sometimes reads the fics that makes even those with the toughest feelings cry a little.

Loki loves deviantART. One of the few mortal things that he doesn't complain about. It didn't occur to the others that he might have an account. It was Tony who discovered that he wrote fanfics. When asked what about, he replies with a smile Everything. Literally, he writes anything and everything. Sherlock, Supernatural, Doctor Who - anything that is interesting, he'll write about. Even the Avengers, to their horror. Loki pretty much ships everyone with everyone and the others find it a bit... weird to know that some of the 'dA famous' fics about themselves were written by their worst enemy. Especially the more smutty ones. He's proud of those ones. Clint thought he was in lots of groups. Loki must be in twice, possibly three times as many such as EverythingAvengers, AvengersAssembled, BBCSherlock, Doctor-Who-Love, CWSupernatural. The list is literally endless and he doesn't even bother checking his WATCH messages anymore. And then all the Loki groups. He was astounded at the number of people who would follow his orders willingly. Needless to say he enjoyed browsing through the likes of LokiLiteratureLovers, LokiLove, LokixReader (which is for him, if you think about LokixLoki), Loki-Fan-Group and his personal favourite Loki-RulesThe-World. He's got about 50 watchers, which annoys Tony as he argues that Literature shouldn't count as an art, despite his love for various Stony fics, which regularly sparks off arguments in the Tower and often ends up with something or someone breaking.

For some reason, JARVIS decided that he wanted a deviantART account too. No-one quite understands how he bakes the cakes that he submits photos of, but the Avengers unanimously decided that they look divine. They just haven't been able to catch him in the act of creating these cakes so none of them have actually been able to sample them yet. Various suggestions have been offered as to the fate of these cakes, but Clint's theory that he sells them and ships them off to a selection of his 500 plus watchers. Although the others will never admit it, they are jealous of the fact that an Artificial Intelligence, although he is the most advanced AI system on the planet, has more watchers than all of them put together.

So remember, you don't know who's behind each account you come across online. So you never know, maybe the next piece of work you favourite, comment on and enjoy, could be written, taken or drawn by your favourite superhero.
This idea occurred to me a while ago, and it's taken me until now to actually write it down - I was surprised that no-one had thought of it earlier (I had a quick scout around yesterday)
This is dedicated to all of the awesome people whose groups I am a part of. As this is in an AU where the film events actually happened, I felt that the groups with Marvel in wouldn't really fit.
And the dedication:
:iconlokiliteraturelovers: :iconmarvel-avengers: :iconmarvel-loki-fans: :iconavengersassembled: :iconeverything-avengers: :iconloki-rulesthe-world: :iconmarvelavengers: :iconloki-love: :iconavengersmovie2012: :iconlokixreader: :icondeviantsassemble: :iconavengersfanfictions: :iconshield-hq: :iconloki-fan-group: and last but not least (and not Avengers related) :iconbbc-sherlock:
And the other groups that I mentioned but am not a part of are :icondoctor-who-love: and :iconcwsupernatural: (I do not watch that show but I just needed to include another fandom!)
Also big thanks to :iconsarahowen97: for beta-reading!
I don't own any of the characters of deviantART in any way!
Hope you like, and reading over this, it now seems a little like an Internet Safety Warning! Please do be careful guys, but sometimes you can't see the other side of the computer screen until it's too late!

Any comments and constructive criticisms are gratefully received (and please don't kill me)!!
